One of the ways for boosting your tutor’s account is to write an article dedicated to learning or teaching languages that is posted on the LiveXP blog. At the end of each article, a reader (a potential student) has a possibility to find out more information about its author (you) and book a lesson with you, which increases your chances of getting more students.

If you have never written articles and have no idea how to do it, here are detailed instructions and recommendations.

Choose a topic

Every tutor has some knowledge to share with others, and with students especially.

  • Passing the exams. To write about your own experience in some fields would be the best. Most students are interested in passing IELTS, TOEFL, and other exams successfully. And you’re here to share some tips with them about the best way to prepare for exams.
  • Learning a language online. The modern world has changed recently and a lot of processes are online now. Learning is not an exception. Tell the students about your own experience, about the advantages and disadvantages of learning languages online, how to do it easily, and in the most effective way.
  • Language aspects. Any unknown language for students is full of strange and unclear aspects such as grammar details, similar words, and phrases, rules, and exceptions, etc. And who can help students better understand the language more than a teacher?
  • Cultural differences. If to talk about English, the meaning and pronunciation of some words vary depending on what culture they refer to. American English, British English, African English, Canadian English — there are so many aspects in these languages.

The article should be interesting and carry value for students. In case we consider the article not valuable, we won't publish it. Also, make sure you don't hurt anyone in your text. Don't be rude when sharing your opinion about other teachers or any students (even in general, using collective names). Or what's better — try to help readers find answers to their questions without any comparison with other teachers.

Requirements to the article

The usual length of our articles is about 300-450 words. It can vary depending on the topic you’re writing about. Usually, it’s enough to share all the information in one article. And it’s good for reading and perception. The uniqueness of the text should be no less than 85%.

We also have a structure of the article according to which it should be written.

Title — up to 70 characters. It is the first thing to which the users pay attention. It is the title of the page and it tells what the content is about together with the description.

Description is a short summary of the page’s content. The title appears at the top of a search result, and the meta description is the snippet that displays underneath.

Heading 1 (H1) should be similar to the title but not the same. Up to 70 characters.

Subheadings should have a hierarchical structure: Н1, followed by Н2 subheadings, inside the Н2 subheading you can use Н3. It is not recommended to use H4, H5, and H6, as this makes the heading structure not simpler, but more complex. The subheadings provide a brief summary of the text that follows. It is necessary for quickly finding the required section of the text and getting an answer to a question, as well as for superficial reading.

Right now we have the possibility to publish articles in English, Turkish, Spanish, German, and Russian. So if you want to write the text in any of these languages — we're welcome!

How the article is published

When the text is ready send it to us. The process of publishing the article on the LiveXP blog — this is ours. All we need from you is the information:

1. Your full name.
2. Location (where you live).
3. The link to your LiveXP profile.
4. The links to your Facebook and Twitter profiles (in case you have them).
5. Your bio. It is a description of yourself. It should be no more than 200 characters and it’s better to write a call to action for booking a lesson with you in the end.
6. Your photo. It would be better if it differs from your LiveXP profile’s photo.
